Are you just starting to research your North Carolina ancestors, or have you researched for a while and hit brick walls and need a refresher? This webinar starts at the very beginning with the founding of the area now called North Carolina, and continues forward through history noting many of the types of records created both common and obscure, how they can help your research, and where to find them both online and in record repositories.
From 1748 to 1777 all land grants in the upper half of NC were issued by Lord Granville instead of the Colonial government. Although similar to Colonial grants, they require different techniques for finding and understanding them. They can also yield valuable information not found elsewhere.
